Picture this… your doorbell rings and your ladies arrive. They spill in the front door where a bottle of sparkling rosé is already popped, glasses set out, and an ice bucket filled with the cutest heart-shaped ice cubes. Or, your hubby gets home from work and you celebrate over a nice dinner with some sparkling grape juice and these fun ice cubes that delight your kiddos. No matter how you celebrate, these HEART SHAPED FANCY ICE CUBES are a simple, fun way to dress up Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day drinks!

If you love a low-effort way to make ordinary food and drink feel special, like I do, try making these festive ice cubes. All you need is water, a few sour gummy hearts (or any hard candy you love), and a heart ice cube mold (which is actually a donut mold for baking). They’re playful, pretty, and a great way to instantly elevate champagne, prosecco or even sparkling water or soda.

How to Make Heart Ice Cubes

Equipment

  • Heart shaped ice cube mold. Silicone molds are the easiest to pop out the ice cubes.
  • Cookie sheet

Key Ingredients

  • Gummy hearts, or any hard candy you love. Avoid candy that will melt or dissolve, like chocolates or conversation hearts.
  • Water
  • Prosecco, champagne, or any bubbly water or soda (like Poppi).

Directions

  1. If using a silicone ice cube mold, place it on a cookie sheet for easy transfer into the freezer.
  2. Put several candies inside each heart mold.
  3. Fill the molds with water, just enough to fill the molds without spilling over.
  4. Freeze for 5-6 hours or overnight until solid.
  5. Gently pop out the ice cubes and serve!

Swap the candy: If you don’t want to use candy, you can use fruit pieces or berries, edible flowers or herbs. The options are endless!

Pop of color: Use a drop of pink or red food coloring in the water for colorful ice cubes.

Make it extra fancy: Add a few sprinkles of edible glitter to each ice cube mold.
