Summer Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad Recipe

This recipe is so easy it's hard to call it a recipe, but it is that good! The simple ingredients and fresh summer produce make for a stunning, delicious and one-of-a-kind appetizer.

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 Heirloom Tomatoes
  • 1 Container Burrata (two balls)
  • 1 Package Fresh Basil
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (to taste)
  • Flaky or Coarse Sea Salt (to taste)

Equipment

  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Serrated Knife
  • 1 Serving plate or platter
  • 1 Fork and Knife (for opening burrata)

Instructions
 

  1. Thinly slice the tomatoes, pat dry and sprinkle with salt. 
  2. Place the tomato slices in a circle around the outside of the plate, leaving room for the burrata in the middle of the plate.
  3. Put the burrata in the middle of the plate and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped basil all over the tomatoes and burrata and add a little more salt. 
  5. Cut the burrata and serve!

Notes

*A large dinner-sized plate or round platter works best.
*If serving a smaller crowd, use two tomatoes and one ball of burrata; you can make this as small or large as you like.
*Serve by itself or with crusty bread.
