Restaurant Recs: Brasserie du Soleil, Wilmington, NC

I’m going to assume we’re all foodies here and interested in spending time with friends over food. And although I’m passionate about hosting, I’m not going to assume everyone is, or at least not yet…

What I’m getting at is that I also love to go out to eat with my friends and family. It’s probably one of my favorite hobbies, actually, and my husband and I are really good at picking restaurants if we do say so ourselves!

Restaurant Recs

So it would be remise for Food & Friends not to include dining out options, don’t you think? I’ve decided to include restaurant recommendations as part of the community, and while we live in North Carolina, we travel a lot so we will share any and all restaurants we love or think are worth trying!

Brasserie du Soleil, Wilmington, NC

First up is Brasserie du Soleil in Wilmington, NC. I recently traveled to the coast of the South of France with one of my best friends and we fell in love with the country, the region and especially the food culture. So after hearing my stepdaughter, Lauren, rave about an authentic French restaurant she loves in Wilmington for the 15th time we had to give it a shot!

Brasserie du Soleil in Wilmington, NC is a authentic French restaurant with a delicious menu and cozy vibe.

The Food

The food (and the cozy vibe) did not disappoint! We started with the oysters and they were on the small side, but I’ll give them a pass since oysters are all different – they’re regional, seasonal, and all the things – so don’t let this discourage you!

Lauren told me that I had to try the grapefruit spritz (I had my share of spritz’s in France of course) and it was lovely! Kevin had the mussels and they were very good, and like oysters, we’ve had our fair share of them to compare.

It was so hard to choose so Lauren and I ordered two dishes to share, the goat cheese gnocchi and the boeuf bourguignon. I’ll start with the gnocchi because it was so unique and something I would order over and over again. But…the boeuf bourguignon was the star of the show! I daydream about it often, that’s how good it was.

Give Brasserie du Soleil a Try!

If you live in or around Wilmington (if you don’t you should make plans to visit!) I highly recommend Brasserie du Soleil. I wish we could have tried everything on the menu, especially a dessert but we were too full, so we will definitely be going back!

Check out Brasserie du Soleil’s website, Facebook page, and Instagram account for more!
